Signal failure disrupts MTR East Rail Line services

Passengers face delays on the MTR's East Rail Line due to a signaling fault near Sheung Shui Station.

MTR announced at around 8 pm that East Rail Line trains will operate at a slower speed from Lo Wu Station / Lok Ma Chau Station to Sheung Shui Station due to the issue.

This could extend the total journey time on the East Rail Line between Admiralty Station and Lo Wu Station / Lok Ma Chau Station by 15 to 20 minutes, said the rail giant.

Trains traveling between Admiralty and Tai Po Market Station were operating at 8-minute intervals, while those to and from Tai Po Market and Lo Wu took 15-minute intervals.
