Yeung Koon Yat, known as the King of Abalone, came to Hong Kong alone at a young age to make a living.
He has worked in the Chinese cuisine industry for over 60 years, and his signature dish, 'Ah Yat Abalone,' has earned a global reputation.
Many national leaders, including former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, former French president Jacques Chirac, and former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien, have also tasted the dish.
While preserving and devoting his entire life to the study of cuisine, Yeung was also able to achieve various accomplishments, such as being a world-renowned chef, an outstanding Chinese person in the world, a recipient of the Bronze Bauhinia Star, three Michelin stars, and much more.
Under his leadership, Forum Restaurant achieved great heights and became a world-renowned three Michelin-starred restaurant.
"Each of these countless honors and recognitions not only testifies to his silent contributions to the catering industry in Hong Kong over the years but also symbolizes his selfless spirit of generously sharing his knowledge and helping younger generations," the page wrote.
The restaurant spokesman stated that everyone will remember the delicacies, spirit, and wisdom left behind by Yeung, and they will do their utmost to carry on his legendary legacy.
