Race organizers said on Wednesday that 20,000 runners would be able to take part in the race. As in previous years, there will be three categories – a marathon race, half-marathon, and a 10K run, with overseas elite athletes being invited.
Among the 20,000 quotas, 1,500 of them will be reserved for overseas runners, while registration for local runners will open on July 20 via a designated website.
This year, the 10K run will start at Tseung Lam highway near LOHAS Park and finishes at Hoi Bun Road in Kwun Tong, while the full and half marathon races will start at Island Eastern Corridor near East Coast Park, route through the Eastern Harbour Crossing, and finishes at San Shan Road in To Kwa Wan.
A special 10-km race consisting of 1,500 quotas will also be introduced in this year’s race for full-time students aged 12 to 25 years.
