Gov’t files police report over fake congratulatory messages to Hong Kong’s first AV actress

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau has filed a police report over a fraudulent press release, in which its chief Kevin Yeung Yun-hung congratulated influencer Erena So in traveling to Japan to become an adult video (AV) actress. 

“The spokesman sternly clarified that the fake press release was not issued via the Government News and Media Information System and the case has been reported to the police,” the official statement read. 

The fraudulent press release has been circulating on the internet after So updated her social media platforms on Wednesday and said that she is now officially an AV actress for studio FALENO. 

The fraudulent press release and the official government statement look very much alike, and sees Yeung congratulate So in wording similar to previous press releases where he congratulated Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh for her Oscar awards. 

It is understood that the post on forum LIHKG where the fraudulent press release first came has been deleted already.
