A man was nearly hit by a falling window in Hung Hom yesterday (August 24) under the rainstorm of typhoon Ma-on.

Police said they received a report yesterday at 6:04pm that an aluminum window was suspected of having fallen from a building near the entrance of the LUX theater on Bulkeley Street with no person injured.
From a video clip showing the scene, a man was crossing the road on Bulkeley Street at 6:01pm yesterday when an aluminum window fell from above and shattered on the ground. The man was recorded in the video clip rushing away from the scene and standing to look back at the broken window as he confirmed himself safe and unhurt.
Netizens said in comments on the video clip that the man was 'very lucky' and should 'thank god' for his fortune.
Hong Kong Observatory issued a No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal of severe tropical storm Ma-On yesterday at 7:24pm. It downgraded its typhoon signal to the Standby Signal, No. 1 at 2.10pm today (August 25) since Ma-on moved away from Hong Kong.
However, since there will be swells, said the observatory, citizens are advised to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
