A warm-hearted motorbiker drew praises online after giving a hand to a granny pushing a full cart of cardboard, in stark contrast to the cabbie honking behind her.

A video that went on Facebook on Friday showed a stooping granny pushing a cart of cardboard inching slowly along Fuk Wa Street in Sham Shui Po.

The busy street saw cars parked on both sides and the granny could only go in the middle of the street. The driver of a taxi behind the old lady kept sounding the horn impatiently.

A motorcyclist driving by immediately parked at the roadside to help the granny and send her back to a lane next to the pavement, freeing the lane in the center for the taxi.

Netizens sang praises to the warm-hearted motorbiker, saying that he "showed the spirit of Hongkonger.” "I respect you!" another said to him.

Some also slammed the cab driver for being impatient. "The cabbie was making money and so was the old lady. Why couldn't he have more empathy?” one wrote.
