The 33-year-old hiker who went missing on Sunday in Pat Sin Leng was found by the police and certified dead, according to media reports.
Rescuers have been searching for him until today, and found an unconscious man at a hillside in the afternoon. The man was later confirmed as the missing hiker Chan King-fai, but soon he was certified dead.
Chan went hiking alone at Pat Sin Leng on Sunday, the hottest May day ever recorded.
He left home about 8.45am in a blue tank top, gray shorts and carrying a green bag, telling his mother that he would be home around 7pm.
At 11.30am he sent his family a photo of himself hiking toward Hsien Ku Fung. He last accessed WhatsApp at 12.14pm.
His mother called him around 7pm and he didn’t pick up. She then reported to the police around 11pm, when he still could not be reached.
The police will later give more information regarding the incident.
