Around 1,500 staffers and tenants from Tsim Sha Tsui's K11 MUSEA will undergo compulsory Covid-19 tests today with the shopping mall closed today and tomorrow.
This came after 41 customers and workers at Mr Ming’s Chinese Dining on the mall’s first floor and one staffer at Cartier on the ground floor were infected, prompting authorities on Saturday to order all workers at the New World Development complex to get tested.
To facilitate mandatory tests for staffers and tenants, a New World spokesman said the mall proactively set up three mobile test stations today, which began operation at 9am.
He said about 1,500 people will be tested today, with results to be available in 24 to 48 hours.
Only staff members with negative results can return to work on Tuesday, after a two-day closure for deep cleaning in all public areas, ventilation systems, restaurants and shops.
The spokesman said Mr Ming’s kitchen has independent ventilating systems for exhaust and fresh air supply and they are not connected to other restaurants or shops.
