Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor’s popularity rating now stands at 29.0 marks, having a net popularity of negative 54 percentage points.

The latest survey by the Hong Kong Public Opinion Program shows that all principal government officials have registered negative net approval rates, with no one falling under the category of “ideal” or “successful” performer.
According to the survey, Lam’s approval rate is 19% with a disapproval rate of 72%, giving a net popularity of negative 54 percentage points.
As for the Secretaries of Departments, the top position goes to Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, having a support rating of 33.6 marks and a net popularity of negative 14 percentage points.
Following behind is Chief Secretary for Administration Matthew Cheung Kin-chung and Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah, having a support rating of 30.7 and 23.1 marks respectively. All three secretaries have registered negative net popularity.
As for the Directors of Bureaux, all 13 of them also register negative net approval rates, with Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee’s net approval rate gone down the most, down by 18 percentage points.
