The 40th Hong Kong Film Awards, originally scheduled to be held next year, will be postponed by one year to 2022, the organizer, the Hong Kong Film Awards Association, said.
This decision takes into account the coronavius pandemic situation.
Movies that were eligible for the awards this year next would be combined for voting and for awards nominations in the first quarter of 2022.
The awards this year were live-streamed on social media and hosted by film-maker Derek Yee.
Director Derek Tsang's Better Days was rewarded with eight awards, including the best film, best director, and best actress. Zhou Dongyu won the award for Best Actress. Hong Kong singer Sammi Cheng had also been nominated for the award for her roles in Fagara and Fatal Visit.
The movie Better Days garnered 12 nominations.
