HK wine fest goes virtual, cyclathon scrubbed

The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced this afternoon that the Wine and Dine Festival will be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, while cyclathon will be cancelled.

Pang Yiu-kai, HKTB chairman, said this would be the first time the wine and dine festival would be held online, while it will also be extended to a few weeks.

“Moving the festival online will allow merchants to participate and promote their products,” Pang said.

It will be extremely challenging to ensure the health of participants, crew members as well as visitors, he said, explaining the decision to cancel the cyclathon scheduled for November.
