Typhoon Higos weakening and moving, No 3 signal expected at 11:00am

Typhoon Higos is moving away from Hong Kong, but the No 8 gale or storm signal remains. The amber rain storm warning is also effective.

The No 3 signal is expected to be isseud  between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

At 9:00 am Higos was centred about 130 kilometers west of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Observaory predicts it will move northwest or west-northwest at about 25 kilometers per hour inland and weaken gradually.

Trains on the MTR lines are operating at 10-15 minute intervals.

The Hospital Authority, said a man and a woman have sought medical treatment at public hospitals.

The tram, Peak Tram, ferry services and daytime franchised bus services are suspended

On the  Lantau Link and Ting Kau Bridge the speed limit has been reduced to 50 kilometers per hour, while the center line of Stonecutters Bridge will be closed.
