Hong Kong has reported double-digit increase in daily confirmed coronavirus case for the fifth consecutive day today.

Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said there have been 89 additional cases – eight imported and 81 locally infected – as at midnight, taking the tally to 3,939, which includes one probable case.
Among the local cases, 49 are linked to previous cases and source of infection for 32 others are still unknown. There are also about 50 initial positive cases.
A worker of the quarantine center in Pok Fu Lam is among the confirmed cases today. Chuang said the worker worked at the Kong Tai Care for the Aged Centre Limited in Tsz Wan Shan in mid-July and there is a possibly that the worker contracted the virus there.
The center has been closed temporarily for sanitizing and tests will be arranged for all workers.
The Hospital Authority said there are so far 2,620 recoveries after 162 more patients were discharged, with 46 deaths.
Among the 1,110 confirmed patients staying in public hospitals, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village and Community Treatment Facility in the AsiaWorld-Expo, 41 are critical, 50 are serious and the rest are stable, said Chief Manager of Quality and Standards, Dr Lau Ka-hin.
The occupancy rate of negative pressure beds and wards are 65 percent and 71 percent, respectively.
