July 8 payout date for HK$10,000 cash promise

Registrations for the HK$10,000 cash handout announced in the budget earlier this year, will begin on June 21, the Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said today.

Funds will be deposited into accounts from July 8.

And registations will close on December 31 next year.

Chan said those elligible can sign up online through banks or hand over a physical form at a bank. Those who do not have a bank account can choose to receive a check by mail.

Last week, 21 banks signed up a services agreement with the government to distribute the much-awaited payout.
