Abraham Shek says Frank Chan should step down

Real estate and construction sector lawmaker, Abraham Shek Lai-him, said today Secretary for Transport and Housing, Frank Chan Fan, should be held accountable for the Hung Hom MTR station extension scandal and resign.

Speaking at the Legislative Council meeting, the pro-establishment lawmaker said Chan, who is also a non-executive director of the MTR Corporation, oversees his bureau and the railway operator. Even if Chan's salary is reduced and he apologizes, it won't solve the problem, he said.

Shek also said the pro-democracy camp should clearly explain the rationale behind cutting officials' pay and departments' budget, or they will not be able to secure his camp's votes.
