Pregnant woman in Wuhan pleads for HK return

Democratic Party lawmaker, James To Kun-sun, said a pregnant Hong Kong woman in Wuhan sought assistance from him, and he hopes the Chief Executive, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, could make a decision to help the woman return.

To said the woman is in her 30th week of pregnancy and the due date is mid-April. She had contacted the Hong Kong government a week ago and quoted a local street committee as saying that she will be allowed to leave immediately if Hong Kong requests.

To said as Wuhan has been under lockdown, the woman has not gone out for one month and needs to be taken care of by others. She wants to give birth in Hong Kong.

He urges Lam to handle the case first and consider assisting others o leave in phases.
