Pan-dems to head Sha Tin District Council

Democratic Party's Ching Cheung-ying has been elected chairman of the Sha Tin District Council while Community Alliance's Wong Hok-lai becomes vice-chairman. Both positions were uncontested.

Civic Party's Luk Tsz Tung proposed to hold a minute's silence for the "heroes" who died in anti-extradition law amendment protests, and it was accepted by Ching.

But Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong's Mok Kam-Kwai and Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong's Lam Kong-kwan disagreed, saying that a cleaner died in protests. They left the gathering.
