Beijing's elite Tsinghua University plans to expand its undergraduate enrollment by 150 students this year and establish a new college, a move to advance artificial intelligence talent development, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The newly enrolled students will join the new college, which aims to cultivate interdisciplinary AI talent.
The university has developed a range of AI-powered tools for teaching, lesson preparation, and grading, and is also providing students with AI learning assistants, Xinhua cited a university representative.
The university is reportedly exploring AI minor and certificate programs, as well as 38 AI-focused general education courses.
