Hong Kong's FX reserves rise to US$446.5 billion in May

Hong Kong’s foreign currency reserves rose by US$4.4 billion to US$446.5 billion last month. 

It represents over five times the currency in circulation or about 38 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said.

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of May 2026 amounted to US$446.2 billion, it said.
