Filipino domestic helper found unconscious next to bleach in Deep Water Bay

A 36-year-old Filipino male domestic helper was found unconscious on Thursday morning (Feb 12) at a private residence on Shouson Hill Road East, Deep Water Bay.

Police received a report from the household around 11.00am regarding a suspected suicide attempt. Emergency services arrived to find the helper on the rooftop, next to a container believed to contain bleach. He was immediately rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital, where he regained consciousness.

No suicide note was discovered at the scene.

Sources say the helper has recently been facing financial difficulties. The case is being treated as a suspected suicide attempt.
