Police launched a cruelty to animals probe after a young Labrador puppy with a fractured hind leg was brought to a Sham Shui Po vet clinic on Tuesday afternoon, where staff suspected abuse.

Officers were called to a clinic on Kiu Kiang Street around 4pm today after veterinary staff discovered the unusual fracture in the puppy's right hind leg, leading them to suspect abuse.
The young male dog is believed to be between three and six months old.
According to reports, the female owner told officers the injury happened when a family member allegedly threw the puppy against a wall at home.
She was subsequently taken to the police station for questioning. Officers from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) also arrived at the scene to assist.
The case has been classified as cruelty to animals, and no arrests have been made yet.
