Sun described the officer as conscientious, hardworking and highly capable, part of the “one household, one social worker” scheme for Wang Fuk Court fire victims.
He offered sincere condolences to the family, who requested privacy, and confirmed the department is providing full support.
Sun noted that after the fire, 2,000 social workers assisted nearly 2,000 households. Another social worker has taken over the deceased’s cases.
To reduce frontline pressure, he highlighted collaboration with civil servant volunteers and NGOs for emotional and other support, stressing social workers are not working alone despite the unprecedented disaster demands.
