The helper, recruited via an agency for HK$19,800 with a claimed 4 years of infant care experience in Singapore, initially appeared caring and gentle.
After one month, C noticed the helper sleeping with the baby and checked footage, revealing rough feeding and forceful shaking that caused the baby’s head to whip back and forth.
Alarmed, she instructed the helper not to shake the baby hard, but a week later found the infant dazed and refusing milk.
She checked the footage again and saw the helper shaking the baby intensely for 3 full minutes.
Doctors stated that this action could cause the baby to have abusive head trauma, where violent shaking causes the brain to slam against the skull, potentially tearing vessels and leading to death.
C reported the case to the police, terminated the helper immediately, and shared the story on TVB’s Scoop to urge agencies to screen out applicants with abuse records.
