A 51-year-old mainland man was slashed in the head in a Mong Kok flat on Sunday afternoon following a dispute over a loan, with the suspect fleeing the scene.
Police were called to Tung Po Mansion on Tung Choi Street around 2pm after a fight broke out between two men in a unit. The victim, surnamed Xin, suffered a five-centimeter head wound but remained conscious and was taken to hospital.

The flat contained three or four bunk beds, with bloodstains inside and on the stairwell. A kitchen knife believed to be involved was found on the stairs. Initial investigations point to a financial dispute, handled by the Mong Kok crime squad.
The suspect, about 30 and also a mainlander, arrived from Shenzhen last Friday with Xin on two-way permits and was staying at the flat. He had borrowed HK$200 from Xin for living expenses and attacked with a knife when San refused another loan. The flat owner witnessed the incident and called police.
