A 60-year-old woman was hospitalized with facial injuries after a vegetable delivery truck collided with temporary scaffolding in Hung Hom on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 11pm outside Cherry Mansions of Whampoa Garden on Shung King Street when the light truck's cargo container reportedly struck the bottom of the scaffolding, causing the structure to collapse sideways onto the pedestrian.
The victim remained conscious while being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with facial bleeding.
The scaffolding, erected for a sushi restaurant's three-day renovation project, stood approximately 4 meters high and 8 meters wide. Initial investigation suggests the truck's height of about 4.3 meters exceeded the scaffolding's clearance.
Police have cordoned off the sidewalk and partial traffic lanes while investigating the incident.
