A statement from St Peter's Secondary School in Ap Lei Chau confirmed that a 42-year-old man who fell to his death in South Horizons recently was one of their teachers. Sources say the man was suffering from depression and work pressure.

The tragic incident occurred last Saturday (May 31) at around 5pm. The man, surnamed Yip, taught IT and Physics at the school.
According to sources, Yip had suffered from depression for over half a year and last received treatment on May 9. He ceased work on May 23, reportedly due to significant work-related stress.
In an official statement, the school acknowledged the presence of various speculations circulating both online and in the media. The institution expressed hope that the public will allow time and space for the school to navigate emotions during this difficult period.
It also expressed sadness and grief over the tragedy and will provide psychological support to affected teachers and students, adding that no speculation should be made while the investigation is ongoing.
Police listed the case as "suicide" and no suicide note was discovered.
