Asia’s premier food and hospitality trade show, HOFEX, and the leading Wines & Spirits Trade Fair, ProWine Hong Kong, kicked off on Wednesday, attracting over 24,000 visitors this year.
The three-day event, which is taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, is expected to host 2,000 exhibitors and brand companies from more than 28 economies.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of innovations and culinary delights, as well as the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic, which features over 500 contestants and more than 100 judges from around the world.

It is highlighted that ProWine Hong Kong is joined by pavilions from eight countries and regions, including China, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Australia.
The exhibition welcomed first-time exhibitors from markets such as Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, and Ukraine, providing beverage professionals with access to the global market.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po noted that the city imported 39 million bottles of duty-free wine last year and consumed approximately 30 million bottles.

The financial chief said that a 40 percent surge in the import volume of liquor has been recorded during the first four months after the duty reduction was implemented last October.
The government is collaborating with the Tourism Board and Trade Development Council to host more international mega-events targeting high-value travelers, he added.
In addition, the HOFEX 2025 will host the Hong Kong Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, the new CP-Meiji Speed Coffee Art Championship, and various masterclasses.
