The nominations for the 62nd Golden Horse Awards were officially announced Wednesday (Oct 1), highlighting A Foggy Tale as this year’s frontrunner with 11 nominations, including Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, Best Leading Actor, and Best Leading Actress.

Hong Kong filmmakers stood out in this year’s lineup. Will Or Wai-lam earned a Best Leading Actor nomination for his performance in A Foggy Tale, marking his first nomination since publicly revealing his battle with cancer. He will compete with Chang Hsiao-chuan (Deep Quiet Room) and Chang Chen (Lucky Lu).
In the Best Leading Actress category, Fan Bingbing was nominated for Mother Bhumi, portraying a mother stripped of artifice and emotional facades. Her competitors include René Liu (Unexpected Courage) and Ariel Lin (Deep Quiet Room).
Other notable Hong Kong nominations include Anthony Wong for Best Supporting Actor in Finch & Midland, a film exploring the struggles of Hong Kong immigrants in 1990s Canada, as well as the animated films Another World and A Mighty Adventure, both recognized in the Best Animation Feature category, demonstrating the city’s strong animation talent.
Former TVB actor and now action director Ken Law Ho-ming received a nod for Best Action Choreography for Good Game, highlighting Hong Kong filmmakers’ versatility and creativity.
The ceremony is scheduled for November 22, 2025, at the Taipei Music Center, to see which films and performers convert nominations into wins.
