Hong Kong will host Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for the first time in March 2026, marking a major milestone for the city’s dining scene and cementing its status as one of Asia’s most influential culinary hubs.
The prestigious awards will culminate in an awards ceremony on March 25, 2026, when the latest ranking of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants—including the title of The Best Restaurant in Asia—will be unveiled. The 2025 list saw Bangkok’s Gaggan claim the top spot.
Organized in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the 2026 edition will bring together leading chefs, restaurateurs, and food media from across the region for a multi-day program of events celebrating Asia’s culinary diversity, innovation, and craftsmanship.
A spokesman for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants said the city was a natural choice for the event’s first appearance in Hong Kong.
“We are delighted to bring Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants to Hong Kong for the first time. The city has long offered an unparalleled dining landscape that blends tradition, innovation and global influence.
“As one of the most exciting food cities in Asia, Hong Kong represents the perfect setting to celebrate the region’s extraordinary culinary diversity. Its world-class dining scene, driven by creativity, craft and innovation, continues to inspire chefs and diners across Asia and beyond.”
Anthony Lau, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, said hosting the event underscores the city’s international culinary appeal.

Hong Kong has long been one of the most sought-after dining destinations in the world, blending culinary cultures from around the globe to offer diverse and exciting gastronomic experiences.
“We look forward to welcoming top chefs, representatives from the culinary industry, and tastemakers from across Asia to Hong Kong this March to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our region's culinary scene.”
Beyond the awards ceremony, the event program will feature a series of signature gatherings that have become hallmarks of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants celebrations.
These include #50BestTalks, a forum examining key issues in gastronomy and hospitality; 50 Best Signature Sessions, which pair acclaimed international chefs with local culinary talent for collaborative dining experiences; a Chefs’ Feast highlighting Hong Kong’s local ingredients and culinary heritage; and a Meet the Chefs media roundtable offering insights from the region’s leading culinary voices.
Ahead of the live ceremony, the organization will also announce a number of special awards recognizing innovation and excellence across Asia, along with the extended list of restaurants ranked from 51 to 100, reflecting the depth and diversity of the region’s dining landscape.
The rankings are determined by a voting academy of more than 350 food writers, chefs, restaurateurs, and industry experts across Asia, with equal representation of men and women. The voting process is independently adjudicated by Deloitte.
The awards presentation and countdown will be broadcast live to a global audience, with viewers able to follow the reveal through the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants YouTube channel.
As Hong Kong prepares to host the region’s most influential culinary gathering, the event is expected to shine an international spotlight on the city’s evolving food culture—one that continues to bridge tradition and innovation while shaping Asia’s dining future.
