Hang Seng Index muted on Thursday as investors await details of Xi-Trump meeting

Hong Kong stocks were muted on Thursday, as investors awaited details of the highly anticipated Xi-Trump meeting. 

The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed flat at 26,389 points, giving up all the gains in the morning.

The market turnover was HK$306.7 billion.

The Hang Seng Tech Index fell by 0.35 percent to 5,076 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index retreated from an 11-year high, down by 1.5 percent to 4,177 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index was down by 2.1 percent to 15,745 points.
