Chinese vice commerce minister met Walmart executive over China procurement

China's vice commerce minister Sheng Qiuping met senior Walmart executive Dan Bartlett on October 16, the commerce ministry said in a statement on Thursday, and encouraged the US retail giant to expand its procurement in China.

At the height of the US-China trade war in April, Walmart reportedly continued to push Chinese suppliers to cut prices to offset US President Donald Trump's tariffs.
