A man and a woman in their 30s were found dead in the bathroom of a rental suite in Taichung, Taiwan on Wednesday night, with police initially not ruling out the possibility of a murder-suicide.
The bodies of the man, surnamed Chang, and woman, surnamed Fang, both 30, were discovered after the woman's employer reported her missing for work and asked friends to check on them. Unable to reach the couple, friends alerted police. Firefighters forced entry into the suite around 7pm and found the pair already dead.
Preliminary investigation by police revealed the suite's doors and windows were closed with no signs of forced entry, though bloodstains were found inside. Given the scene, authorities suspect one of the partners may have killed the other before taking their own life.
Taichung's First Police Precinct has cordoned off the scene. Forensic teams are conducting detailed evidence collection and reviewing nearby surveillance footage to clarify the circumstances.
