Britons who saw the news about Greece wanting to welcome tourists from mid-May and jumped online to book a holiday are being urged to exercise restraint by the transport secretary this morning.
When asked whether it was still too early to book holidays, Grant Shapps told the BBC's Today program: "Yes, in as much as we know that the Global Travel Taskforce that I'm running reports on April 12.
"We've said that it will remain illegal to travel internationally till at least Ma 17y. That's an 'at the earliest' date."
