From April 11 to 14, 2025, the Global Sources April Phase 1 Hong Kong Shows will kick off at the AsiaWorld-Expo, bringing together three shows: the Gaming Show, Consumer Electronics Show, and Electronic Components Show.
John Kao, Global Sources Vice President of Hong Kong and Overseas Shows
With over 2,000 exhibitors and 100,000 innovative products on display, the exhibition serves as a one-stop sourcing platform for global buyers. The Phase I Hong Kong Shows is expected to attract over 60,000 international B2B visitors, with above 40% of them from Europe and North America.
Hu Wei, CEO of Global Sources highlighted that the exhibition has redefined traditional exhibitions by seamlessly merging online and offline (O2O) strategies. He noted, “The event delivers an efficient platform for global trade collaboration while championing eco-friendly procurement. This dual focus cements its role as an industry trendsetter and innovation incubator, driving sustainable growth across the electronics sector.”
KOLs and buyers guide industry trends
This year, the Gaming Show debuts as a standalone event, highlighting Asia’s leading role in the esports and gaming peripherals market. The show features over 200 exhibitors, including top brands like DAREU, AULA, PXN, VGN, and Morphling, collectively showcasing the largest array of gaming peripherals ever seen at the Global Sources Hong Kong Shows.
A highlight of the Gaming Show is the inaugural “KOLs & Buyers’ Favorite Gaming Gear Awards.” This innovative evaluation process features on-site scoring by renowned international KOLs, who test the products firsthand, combined with real-time buyer voting. Covering six categories – gaming mice, keyboards, chairs, monitors, controllers, and headsets – the awards will recognize the most popular gaming products of the year.
Judges will assess products based on design, functionality, user experience, material quality, and innovation. The evaluation will culminate in an awards ceremony on April 13, where the top six products will be unveiled as procurement trendsetters for the first half of the year.
“This evaluation mechanism, which deeply integrates professional insights with real market feedback, will effectively shatter the traditional trade show model of ‘working in a vacuum.’ It not only provides direction for the development of esports hardware and peripherals market, helps buyers precisely select quality products, and seizes procurement opportunities in fierce market competition, but also has the potential to reshape the new product R&D ecosystem of the entire industry,” said John Kao, Vice President of Hong Kong and Overseas Shows.
Exploring IP collaborations and blind box trends
The exhibition highlights cross-industry partnerships and the booming blind box trend. Major IP collaborations feature popular franchises like Transformers Bumblebee, One Piece, and Hatsune Miku, leveraging brand synergy to gain market edge. Exhibitors are also creating their own trendy IP characters to build unique brand identities and establish competitive barriers.
Innovative blind box offerings are another key focus. Fashion digital peripherals brand Akko will debut its IP keycap blind box wholesale service at the show, targeting the B2B market. Meanwhile, Happi Class IP will showcase its limited-edition collaboration with the Global Sources Hong Kong Show on-site, providing it as a special gift for buyer registrations in order to test the B2B market response and uncover potential opportunities.
These collaborations demonstrate how integrating electronics with creative IP concepts can enhance product appeal and unlock new opportunities for businesses. According to John Kao, IP partnerships have moved beyond single-product cooperation to multidimensional experiential innovation.
Recognizing innovation and design excellence
The April Phase 1 show will also feature the Global Sources Best of Innovation Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in electronic technology. This year marks the debut of the “Best Product Design Award,” a collaboration with the European Product Design Award (EPDA). The award honors trailblazing products that combine bold creativity with visionary design, further solidifying the exhibition’s role as a hub for industry innovation.
From groundbreaking gaming peripherals to eco-friendly innovations, the Global Sources April Phase 1 Hong Kong Shows promises an unparalleled sourcing experience, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of electronics.
