A Hong Kong man who was involved in the illegal money exchange business in Macau was found dead in a hotel room in Cotai on Wednesday, according to Macau police.

The body of the middle-aged victim was discovered by hotel staff around 4 pm yesterday. He had suffered severe injuries to his neck and head, and a large amount of blood was found in the bathroom.
Two knife blades, each measuring about 6 cm in length, were found in the room.
Police found that the man has been engaged in a "money exchange gang" for at least half a year and had won around HK$2.5 million at a casino before his death.
After a thorough investigation, the Macau police apprehend a Hong Kong woman and a mainland Chinese man within a few hours. A total of HK$ 1.7 million has been recovered so far.
The 40-year-old mainland man, surnamed Yang, is suspected of murdering the victim in a robbery attempt after becoming jealous of the victim's winnings.
The 48-year-old Hong Kong woman, surnamed Tang, is accused of assisting in the crime money transfer. Both reported being involved in the illegal money exchange business in Macau.
