Although the weather was unfavorable, and it rained heavily in Kowloon East at 2 pm today, many citizens still came here to say their final farewells to the center.
Some even took selfies in the rain at the entrance of the KITEC, and there was a long queue at the shuttle bus waiting area at Kowloon Bay MTR Station.
A citizen said he worked nearby ten years ago and often came to eat at a restaurant in the center during lunchtime.
He originally planned to come today to say a final farewell to the shop, but he never thought that the restaurant had already closed and felt very regretful.
Lam and his father came to say goodbye to the center, along with the trophy he had won from a chess competition at KITEC when he was a child. They took photos to remember the special place where he first won a trophy.
A citizen surnamed Wong said that while she knew the purpose of the renovation was to cooperate with urban development, she stated that she was still regretful about the closure of KITEC and wished it could still keep its function of hosting shows.
