A police van is suspected to have caused a collision in Shau Kei Wan on Tuesday morning leaving two people injured after ignoring a red light.
The collision happened around 9 a.m. today when the police van was heading towards Chai Wan on Shau Kei Wan road.
When the police van got near Sun Sing Street, a seven-seater sedan pulled out onto Shau Kei Wan Road and collided with the police van.
The bumper of the seven-seater van fell off, while the front left of the police van was damaged.
A female passenger in the seven-seater van scraped her arms and legs, while the police officer suffered injuries to his ribs. They were both taken to hospital for medical attention.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The dashcam footage of the scene was posted online, showing the police van driving through a red light at the junction of Shau Kei Wan Road and Sun Sing Street without the use of a siren or flashing lights. The van, pulling out of Sun Sing Street, collided with the police van.
