The English Schools Foundation (ESF) will increase its tuition fees by 4.8 percent on average starting the 2024/25 school year.
The most distinct increase is observed in the annual tuition fee for year 1-6 students, which will be increased from HK$126,200 to HK$132,500, which marked a 4.99 percent rise.
The new tuition fee for year 7-9 students will be HK$173,900, or a 4.07 percent increase.
The annual fees for year 10-11 and year 12-13 students will be HK$152,200 and HK$160,100, respectively, representing a 4.68 percent and 4.71 percent changes.
In a letter to parents, the foundation's chief executive, Belinda Greer, reassured that when setting the budget for the upcoming year, the Board "aims to find a balance" between recruiting and retaining exceptional teachers and support staff while keeping the fees reasonable.
She added that the fee level "remains among the lowest compared to other international schools in Hong Kong."
Greer added that the funds will be allocated to enhance learning, support measures, professionally develop staff and improve school facilities for the students.
