Lee recalled his visit to the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair last year where citizens were still wearing a mask.
This year he opted for the flower market in Sha Tin, hoping to experience its vibrancy, and was glad to see citizens smile.
The Hong Kong leader said that there will be many activities during the Lunar New Year, including the night parade on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Feb 10), the fireworks display on the second day, etc.
He assured that authorities have made many arrangements, including crowd management, traffic, and border crossings.
He believes there will be many people coming out and is confident that citizens can maintain good order while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Lee hopes that the citizens would have a warm Lunar New Year tonight, welcoming the Year of the Dragon, and wishes them good luck, success, and good health.
During his visit, the Hong Kong leader greeted and chatted with the owner of a flower stall. He bought orchids and lilies for HK$330 and HK$200 respectively, for his mother and wife.
He also talked to many citizens, took photos, and signed autographs for them. He shared tips with a young girl on how to take better care of her eyes as well.
