Around 1.14 pm yesterday (Dec 18), police received a report from a man, who stated that he had seen a human-shaped object floating in the waters near Kwai Tsing Container Terminals.
The firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the man back to shore, where he was confirmed dead after a medical examination.
A police investigation confirmed that the victim is a 41-year-old man surnamed Yung, who has been missing since he had driven to and jumped off Stonecutters' Bridge last Wednesday (Dec 13).
The police were not able to find a suicide note, and the cause of his death is pending a forensic autopsy.
The incident was listed as a "discovery of a body," and police are investigating the reason he fell into the sea.
