New bus route to run from Tsing Yi to Tsueng Kwan O starting late Sep

The Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) will introduce a new Route 49 from Tsing Yi to Tsueng Kwan O starting September 25.

The bus giant announced Thursday that the route will run from Ching Fu Court in Tsing Yi to Tsueng Kwan O Industrial Estate during rush hours.

Route 49 will also encompass Jordan, Kowloon Bay, and Kwun Tong.

The company stated that the new route would only take 30 minutes from the Tsing Yi interchange to the Kowloon Bay commercial district.

Route 49 will have two buses heading from Tsing Yi to Tsueng Kwan O Industrial Estate in the busy morning hours at 7 and 7.30, with two buses returning to Tsing Yi at 5.10 and 5.30 pm. A whole trip will cost HK$14.2.

The spokesman said as more people move to the Ching Fu Court, the new subsidized housing estate, KMB will continue to work with the Transport Department to enhance the services of Route 49.
