The job fair offers various positions, such as airfield assistant, accounting clerk, and cargo services officer, for youth job seekers, including students from tertiary and secondary schools.
Over 30 organizations participated and conducted on-the-spot recruitment, including Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Disneyland, HK Express, etc.
The event also offers visits to HKIA Innovation Lab and Hong Kong International Aviation Academy to help participants learn more about the latest technology at the airport as well as aviation education paths.
In addition, CV photo-taking services, CV advice, career consultations, interview makeup and hair styling workshops were also provided at the job fair.
Fred Lam Tin-fuk, the chief executive officer of the AAHK, said the airport needs 75,000 laborers to support operation, with the workforce being reduced to about 50,000 so far.
The AAHK's chief operating officer Vivian Cheung Kar-fay pointed out that the airport's ground services are the most short-staffed.
When asked how many import workers will be allocated to the ground services, she said it depends on the local recruitment reaction as the priority will be given to local employees.
