A Foodpanda delivery rider was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a sedan in Fo Tan on Monday morning.
Around 11.30 am today, at the junction of Fo Tan Road and Lok King Street, a sedan was turning right to Lek Yuen when it was struck by a Foodpanda delivery rider driving along Fo Tan Road.
An off-duty paramedic in a nearby sedan immediately got out of the vehicle to assist the injured biker.
The rider fell into a coma and was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital by paramedics for emergency medical attention.
It is understood that the injured rider suffered multiple bone fractures.
The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and do not rule out the possibility that someone ignoring the red light led to the accident.
