The incident that happened at around 9am on Monday saw the Route 290A double-decker crashed into road barriers near Nob Hill when heading towards Tsuen Wan along Ching Cheung Road and tilted.

Firefighters managed to rescue all passengers around noon. Among the 47 brought to the hospital for treatment, four women and two men sustained more severe injuries.

The bus firm noted that the driver has more than two years of experience driving the same route, while the driver had his rest day two days ago.
It said the bus had undergone routine checking last Thursday and the company would fully cooperate with the investigation.
Due to the accident, all lanes of Ching Cheung Road (Tsuen Wan bound) near Lai Chi Kok Park are closed to all traffic, with traffic congested. The Transport Department advised motorists to use alternative routes.
