A lawmaker who attended the “antechamber chat” at the Legislative Council with top government officials - including chief executive John Lee Ka-chiu - tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
Lawmaker Kingsley Wong Kwok wrote on his Facebook this morning that he had tested positive for Covid-19 through a rapid antigen test (RAT) and is currently undergoing home quarantine.
He also added that he has minor symptoms that are similar to a cold.
Wong noted that he has received four doses of the Covid vaccine and has been testing negative with the RATs for the past week, including in the morning and evening on Wednesday.
The lawmaker from the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions attended the first “antechamber chat” hosted by the chief executive.
At the meeting, he was said to have taken photos with Lee as well as with the three department secretaries and their deputies.
Wong also participated in the small group chat with Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok and Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan.
During the meeting, Wong sat next to lawmakers Maggie Chan Man-ki and Peter Koon Ho-ming.
