Police will implement crowd safety management measures and special traffic arrangements in the North District during the golf tournament at Fanling Golf Course.
At a press conference on Tuesday, police's acting assistant divisional commander Tsang Wai-fai indicated that traffic may be redirected during heavy congestion near the golf course and advised the use of public transport or shuttle buses provided by organizers.
Tsang noted that QR codes will be used for ticket inspection, suggesting spectators prepare in advance to save time.
He stated the venue will open at 10am for ticketing and security checks, with the event scheduled to kick off at 12.15pm.
He also advised the public to exercise patience, follow police instructions on-site, and heed directional signs and announcements.
Chief Inspector of Enforcement and Control Division of Traffic New Territories North Ng Hing-cheong announced that if severe traffic congestion occurs around Fan Kam Road between 10am and 12am on the event day, temporary traffic diversions will be implemented.
He also noted that, depending on traffic conditions, northbound vehicles on Fan Kam Road may be restricted from turning right onto Po Kin Road after the event ends around at 5pm.
Ng emphasized that these diversions will be determined by on-site police officers based on real-time assessments, and he expressed confidence that most drivers will be able to enter and exit the area safely and orderly.
