Speaking to reporters today, Lo said he was committed to bringing the university to new heights by enhancing quality in teaching, research, services, and innovation. He also said he had plans to meet with his management team, as well as staff, students and alumni.
When asked about CUHK's student publication, U-Beat Magazine, drawing criticism from authorities over a report on the city’s district-level care teams, Lo said the publication offered students hands-on experience and that diverse opinions were crucial for their learning.
In an open letter addressing members of CUHK, Lo expressed gratitude for the support he had received and pledged to foster open discussion with the school community.
Lo also expressed excitement to work with faculties and students to create an inclusive campus environment.
Lo was the only candidate recommended by the school presidential selection committee, succeeding Rocky Tuan Sung-chi for a five-year term.
