The Chinese Navy's first and sole sailing training ship -- the Po Lang -- arrived in Hong Kong on Monday for a three-day visit, marking its inaugural trip to the city.
The ship set sail into Victoria Harbour at approximately 8 am, reaching the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison's Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base by 10 am.
Po Lang is set to welcome visitors from various sectors during its stopover.
Launched in 2017, the full-rigged ship measures 86 meters in length and 11 meters in width, boasting a displacement tonnage of over 1,200.
Embarked on a training mission, Po Lang has visited countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Singapore since mid-August before the stopover in Hong Kong.
The training ship can accommodate 50 naval cadets, allowing them to practice navigation skills such as climbing the mast, operating sails, celestial navigation to enhance their capabilities in critical operational areas.
