A parking lot in Piper's Hill Cheung Sha Wan was hit with severe flooding on Tuesday as the city was hammered by torrential rain, as the Hong Kong Observatory hoisted the Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal.
Authorities received a report at around noon that a suspected landslip had occurred on Tai Po Road near Piper’s Hill. A parking lot the size of a basketball court nearby was also seen affected by heavy flooding.
The parking lot was filled with foot-deep muddy water, and several parking meters had tilted.
Shortly after the report, government contractors were dispatched to the scene to clear the debris blocking the drainage outlets. It was understood that no cars were affected or damaged by the flooding.
