A total of 63 people were arrested on Thursday by officers from the New Territories South regional crime headquarters in connection to recent gang fights throughout the city.

The arrestees including 42 men and 21 women are aged 21 to 91. They were arrested on suspicion of obtaining property by deception, money laundering, trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing firearms and ammunition without a license, running illegal gambling establishments, illegal immigration and wounding.
During the operation, police first busted a 1,500-square-foot residential unit that was transformed into a mahjong parlor at Tai Pei Square in Tsuen Wan.
Thirty-nine men and 12 women there were caught gambling red-handed by police, including two 65-year-old men believed to be the operators.
Police believe the parlor was operated a triad society through collection commissions. The guests were also served with food and drinks and the unit was equipped with sound-proof facilities. The parlor operated for about three months with a monthly income of nearly HK$70,000, police said.
Police meanwhile intercepted a couple in a target unit at Ying Fu House, Choi Hung Estate in Ngau Tau Kok and seized 141 g of suspected “ice”, a drug worth HK$80,000.
Officers also seized a meth bubbler, an electronic scale, and a significant amount of transparent plastic bags, as well as three stun guns and a tear gas spray cannister.
The boyfriend, 29, was reportedly a jobless Vietnamese man with a background of triad society, while the the girlfriend, 21, was a jobless local woman. Both were remanded in custody.
